Dri-Eaz HEPA 500 Air Scrubber Rental in Brooklyn, NYC
Rent the Dri-Eaz DefendAir HEPA 500 air scrubber (model F284) in Brooklyn or anywhere in New York City. Pick it up at our Brooklyn yard or have it delivered to your job in any of the five boroughs.
The HEPA 500 pulls air through a pre-filter and a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, including mold spores, drywall dust and other fine particles. Turn the dial for any airflow from 250 to 500 CFM. Use it as an air scrubber in the room, or attach duct to the 12 in intake or 8 in outlet to run it as a negative air machine.
At 44 lb with a molded handle, one person can carry it up stairs. The rotomolded housing has built-in Microban antimicrobial protection, the units stack, and the HEPA filter light tells you when to change the filter.

HEPA 500 Filters
The HEPA 500 runs a pre-filter in front of a True HEPA filter. In very dusty work you can stack two pre-filters to make the HEPA last longer. Inspect the pre-filter before each use and change the HEPA when the change light comes on. We carry replacement filters, so ask for them when you request a quote.
- Pre-filter: Dri-Eaz F270 pre-filter, catches larger particles and protects the HEPA.
- HEPA filter: Dri-Eaz F321 HEPA filter, 99.97% at 0.3 micron.
- Odor option: Dri-Eaz F397 activated carbon filter for smoke, odors and VOCs.
- Tested option: Dri-Eaz F415 DOP filter for jobs that need a tested HEPA setup.
Jobs the HEPA 500 Is Built For
- Mold remediation: capture spores while you remove damaged material.
- Water and sewage damage: clean the air while fans and dehumidifiers dry the space.
- Fire and smoke cleanup: add the F397 carbon filter for odors.
- Small renovation jobs: control dust in apartments, offices and stores.
Dri-Eaz states that the HEPA 500 is not intended for asbestos remediation. For asbestos or larger containments, see the PAS2400 air scrubber and follow the rules for your job.

HEPA 500 Rental FAQs
How big a room can one HEPA 500 handle?
Divide the airflow by the room volume. At 500 CFM the HEPA 500 moves 30,000 cubic feet per hour, which is about 4 air changes per hour in a 1,000 sq ft room with 8 ft ceilings. For bigger rooms or more air changes, rent two or three units, or step up to the 2,100 CFM PAS2400.
Can I run more than one on the same outlet?
Yes. Each unit draws about 3 amps and has its own outlet, so you can daisy chain up to three units for 1,500 CFM on one 15 amp circuit.
Can it work as a negative air machine?
Yes. Attach duct to the 8 in outlet and run the exhaust outside the work area to hold the room under negative pressure.
When should the filters be changed?
Check the pre-filter before each use and change it when you see dust building up. Change the HEPA filter when the change light comes on. After mold or sewage jobs, replace both filters before the next job.
