Rental Policy

1. Rental Requirements

To rent equipment, customers must provide:

  • A valid government-issued ID.
  • A major credit card for payment and security deposit.
  • A Certificate of Insurance (COI) for certain rentals.

2. Rental Periods

Rental periods are as follows:

  • Daily Rental: 24-hour period.
  • Weekly Rental: 7 consecutive days.
  • Monthly Rental: 28 consecutive days.

Equipment must be returned by the agreed-upon time to avoid additional charges.

3. Payment & Deposits

All rentals require payment in full at the time of pickup or delivery. Deposits may be required based on the equipment type.

  • Accepted payment methods: Credit cards, debit cards, and business checks.
  • Deposits are refunded upon return of the equipment in proper condition.

4. Delivery & Pickup

We offer delivery services to all five boroughs of New York City.

  • Delivery fees vary based on distance and equipment type.
  • Customers must be present for delivery and sign for the equipment.
  • Equipment must be ready for pickup at the agreed-upon time.

5. Equipment Use & Responsibilities

By renting from us, you agree to:

  • Operate equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Not exceed the equipment’s intended use or weight limits.
  • Return equipment in the same condition as received.

6. Damages, Loss, & Theft

The renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the equipment during the rental period.

  • Repair costs will be charged to the renter if equipment is returned damaged.
  • Theft must be reported immediately and is the renter’s responsibility.
  • Insurance is recommended for high-value rentals.

7. Late Returns & Extensions

Late returns are subject to additional rental charges.

  • Daily rentals returned late will be charged an extra day’s rental fee.
  • Rental extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to availability.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 24-Hour Notice: Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance may be eligible for a refund.
  • Same-Day Cancellations: Subject to a cancellation fee.
  • No Refunds: Once the rental period has started.

9. Maintenance & Repairs

We maintain our equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance. If an issue arises during your rental period:

  • Contact us immediately for assistance.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the equipment.

10. Liability & Indemnification

American Tool and Equipment Rental is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from equipment use. The renter assumes full responsibility for safe operation.
